Parent’s Unite in Washington, D.C.

Parents Unite officially kicked off in Washington, D.C., yesterday, as early arrivals settled in for an afternoon of preparation, practice, and planning. During training sessions for conversations on Capitol Hill, their energy reflected something bigger already taking shape. And that energy hit fever pitch when a Head Start alum and board chair of the HeadStarter Network joined the group to share his Head Start story and fire up the parents before they head to the Hill today! We are incredibly proud of our Nebraska Head Start parents and leaders who are representing our state in Washington, D.C. this week as part of the Parents Unite movement! 🇺🇸
Mark Haba, Bobbi Mason, and Christie Ference are joining parents from across the country to meet with lawmakers and share their real-life experiences with Head Start. Their voices matter—and they are helping shape the future of early childhood education for families everywhere.
Head Start has made a lasting impact on thousands of Nebraska children and families, and it’s powerful to see our parents leading the conversation at the national level. 💙
Safe travels to our amazing advocates—we are cheering you on and grateful for the difference you are making!
