In celebration of Week of the Young Child, Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership (CNCAP) welcomed a visit from First Lady Suzanne Pillen. The Week of the Young Child is the opportunity to celebrate young children and caregivers, who lay the foundation for their future success. On April 3rd, Suzanne visited the Columbus Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms and spent some time reading to infants and toddlers. She also spent time talking with teachers and thanked them for what they do every day.
CNCAP is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency serving 21 counties throughout the state. In the Columbus location, Head Start Preschool serves children ages 3-5 while Early Head Start serves families prenatal to age 3, in either a home or center-based option. The program provides nutritional meals and snacks for the children as well as diapers, and formula at no charge to families. Educational activities done with the children each day. There are approximately 160 children enrolled.
